Hayley Orrantia is an American actress, singer and song writer. The most famous of her characters can be Erica Goldberg who stars in 'The Goldbergs,' the comedy television show. She considers herself to be an artist first and foremost. Music is her first love she maintains; it is something that she started dabbling at when she was nine years old. At the age of 12 the music she was playing took more serious form and she started training professionally. She ventured into songwriting at 13 and was only 14 when she recorded her debut album of covers songs. The rest is history. Orrantia has Hispanic heritage, yet was born in the USA. Though she grew up speaking solely English and has never lived in Mexico she's very happy about her Hispanic culture. To preserve the heritage she's enrolled in Spanish. Also, she writes songs based on the language. "Hasta Verte," which she recorded in Spanish is an example of this. Orrantia performed for The X Factor during its debut season in the summer of 2011. Orrantia's YouTube video was chosen and she received four "yeses" (or votes) by the judges at the Seattle audition. Her initial audition was in the show "Hollywood Week" as a single artist. But, three other female vocalists as well as her were brought together for auditions of for the remaining songs. They were eliminated during the 5th week during the live performance.
